Working in the studio offers comfort but it also has other challenges.  Relying on notes (mental and written) the process takes on a different guise – the movement of the medium and phenomena occurring on the paper can be seductive – taking over; being aware of this trap is important and fighting it to avoid losing the ‘edge’ is vital.
