My work conveys open space, a void filled with challenge, on the brink of normal civilised cultured environment – the extreme, a rite of passage.

Through painting the experience (a form of phenomenology) I capture the air, the movement, and the place taking references of form, colour, and noise – marks guide rather than state the realistic, allowing the viewer to compose their own understanding of the ambiguities.

Working with a range of paper based media and using some photography I am currently researching the amalgam of percepts and effects and broadening understanding of how they contribute to the apprehension of a work.
